on Friday, Attorney General Austin Knudsen visited Senior High School in Billings to introduce a new initiative aimed at preventing overdoses among students. The program will provide Narcan kits to middle and high schools across the state.
The Attorney General’s Office is distributing these kits to combat rising overdose incidents across Montana. According to the state’s Department of Public Health and Human Services, 326 children aged 0-17 visited the emergency room or were hospitalized for unintentional overdoses in 2022. Last year, 276 children required medical attention for similar reasons.
The Attorney General chose Billings as the starting point for this distribution due to the high volume of fentanyl seizures in the area.
